The Forest
Protected & Preserved
Set in the Southern Outer
Piedmont, The Falls old growth climax forest rivals any natural setting anywhere in the Southeast.

Surrounding The Falls is a nearly four-acre private nature preserve, permanently protected under conservation with the Georgia Land Trust. Winding through this sanctuary is close to a mile of walking trails, creating a continuous loop that moves through dense forest, along the edge of Peavine Creek, and past mossy boulders and fern-covered banks. These trails aren’t manicured for show—they are designed to let the landscape speak for itself, allowing residents and guests to experience Georgia’s original wilderness right outside the front door. Whether used for quiet reflection, daily walks, or spontaneous exploration, the trail system offers a deep, uninterrupted connection to the land.
The preserve is home to one of the most diverse ecosystems found in any residential setting in the region. With more than 40 species of hardwood trees, over 55 varieties of native wildflowers and understory plants, and a rich population of wildlife—100+ bird species, 50+ amphibians, and dozens of mammals and pollinators—the forest feels like a living archive of Southern biodiversity. Each season brings a new rhythm: spring wildflower blooms, the dense green canopy of summer, fall foliage that lights up the trail, and the stark beauty of winter’s quiet stillness. It's not just a backyard—it’s a protected, evolving landscape and a daily reminder of the rare natural beauty that surrounds The Falls.
